Events December 13, 2010 Christmas is here! SMES Ushers Christmas Cheer! Cake Mixing Ceremony St. Mary's Junior College, St. Mary's College Yousufguda & Sancta Maria International School came together on 13th December to usher in the Christmas Season. Festivity is in the air in this time of 'Advent', event at St. Mary's Educational Society. Keeping up with the English tradition of cake mixing weeks before the Big Day, a cake mixing ceremony was organized in the campus of St. Mary's College, Yousufguda, Hyderabad. This unique ceremony was not restricted only to bakery kitchens, but celebrated along with all the members of the staff of all the three instutions under St. Mary's Educational Society. Mixing of fruits and nuts with spirits is indeed a sight to cherish, Mountains of chopped raisins, almonds,pista, walnuts, blackcurrants, dates, cashews, tuti-fruity, cherries and more…flavoring spices and assorted spirits; this mix will be allowed to soak in the liquor till about 2 days before Christmas before it is transformed Christmas cakes. The event was inaugurated by the Secretary Ms. Mary Reddy and all the staff members of all the 3 institutions participated in the ritual with much enthusiasm and cheerfulness and made definite memorable moments…

5 K Run for a Social Cause- An Awareness Campaign Against Ragging

A Campaign Against Ragging- Initiative of St. Mary's College-2010

Ragging Action Force is an Initiative of the Students of St. Mary's. The Volunteers of RAF try and spread awareness among their peer group about the illeffects of this social evil in educational institutions and the legal consequences if the ragger is reported and found guilty. This Year the students have proposed a 5 K Run to campaign against ragging. The mega event will take place on 22nd August 2010 at people's plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. All the students of twin cities are invited to join the RUN for the social cause.
